We hear the word ‘antioxidant’ used so often, but do you actually know what they do?
The fact: Matcha is rich in antioxidants
The antioxidants in Matcha green tea are good for the heart and for weight loss, they fight against the effects of UV radiation, give us younger-looking skin, and prevent quite a few illnesses. But how do they do this?
Basically, antioxidants help prevent cell damage caused by oxidants (also known as free radicals). Free radicals can attack the healthy cells of the body and this cell damage appears to be a major contributor to aging and diseases.
Vitamins C and E in Matcha are antioxidants, but 60% of Matcha’s antioxidant properties comes from EGCg, a specific catechin found in high quantities in Matcha green tea.
Give your body a helping hand – have a cup of Matcha for an antioxidant boost!
